  • You can either drag and drop the file you want to import or click the “Add file” button to upload it from your computer.
  • Matrixify supports various import formats, including:
  • Matrixify: Excel
  • Matrixify: CSV (zipped or not zipped)
  • Shopify: CSV (zipped or not zipped)
  • Matrixify: Google Sheets (from a shared public link)
  • Other custom file formats developed as additional services for merchants.
  • The app will automatically detect the CSV file encoding and convert it to UTF-8 as needed for Shopify.
  • Column Headers and Data Matching:
  • Ensure that the column headers in your import file match the Matrixify template column headers.
  • Column order doesn’t matter, and you can have additional columns in your file.
  • If a column header isn’t recognized, the app will ignore it.
  • File Size and Limitations:
  • Manual uploads from your computer are limited to 5 GB. For larger files, upload them to a file hosting service and import from a URL.
  • The maximum file size for an import job from a URL is 10 GB (if using multiple CSV files in a ZIP, the sum of all CSV files inside the ZIP cannot exceed 30 GB).
  • Excel files can hold up to 1 million rows, but for larger data, use the “Matrixify: CSV” format.
  • Be aware of Shopify’s limitations on data size and import.
  • Managing Metafields and Custom Data:
  • Matrixify allows you to import and export Shopify metafields in bulk.
  • You can also create custom data fields during import.
  • Exporting Data:
  • Matrixify supports exporting data as well.
  • You can export Shopify URL redirects, metaobject entries, product data, and more.
  • Fields marked as “Export Only” cannot be imported into Shopify but can be exported using Matrixify.
